“Maybe it’s because you’re mine,” he mused... “No one’s ever belonged to me before.”
This was good and Nick was HOT, but I wish there was more emotional connection than just sex and him spoiling her. Also there was a whole lot of action in the last like 5% of the book which was kind of crammed into there after being nonexistent for the rest of the book which was just a lot to wrap my head around. However, I loved seeing Sophia and Nick be siblings and the scene with Amelia and Nick had my ovaries in knots. Not to mention, the reluctant respect (bromance feels like a stretch but I am confident we get there eventually) between Ross and Nick especially in that epilogue. Nevertheless, another enjoyable Lisa Kleypas read. Also, I can't believe this is the end of this series. I would have loved a book for Dr. Linley because his dry humor is right up my alley.

I feel like I read this book and then forgot everything about it. It wasn't bad but not memorable to me. I did love the concept of he's hired to find a runaway bride and falls for her, but I don't know if the execution works for me.

Definitely a book for snuggling down on a wet, windy day and indulging yourself. It's a comforting, enjoyable read, whilst the story line was totally detached from reality, it was never the less strangely believable. A good read for those who like happy endings.

Final installment of Bow Street Runners series. Wish I had reread the others before diving into this one, since it’s a direct continuation of Nick Gentry’s character arc, but the book does a decent job with backstory. This is a super-steamy historical romance based on a marriage of convenience between a couple who just needs the right circumstances to admit how madly in love they really are. A good example of what Kleypas does best: strong FMCs who know their own minds, and reformed MMCs who know how to respect (and please!

I have apparently forgotten how much I love this book because I just absolutely devoured it.
I thought the villain was chilling and horrifying and that Lottie was a calming and logical presence with hidden strength. I also thought Nick Gentry was absolutely fantastic. He’s so capable and protective and says things like, ”You’re safe with me. I would never ask for more than you were willing to give.” This book doesn’t get as much love as it deserves.
