Not as mysterious and thrilling as I’d expected. It was a slow burn but I kept wanting to read on to find out what the big secret was

Atmospheric novel that moved a bit slowly for the "pay off." The Birdcage featured the Finch family home "Rock Point" as its own character, which is one of my favorite literary devices. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys family secrets, duel timelines, or a multi-perspective narrative.

The prose and characterization in this book are absolutely wonderful and carry the whole thing. The plot is admittedly weak, more like an unfolding of events. I got a little tired of the over the top references to 'what happened the day of the eclipse.' By the 45% mark it was pretty obvious what happened, not to mention the subtle 'twist' at the end. Both were easily predictable but not in a bad way, it was more about how it happened.

This ❤️ This was utterly spell binding. I absolutely adore Eve Chase’s books. She has a way of writing that is spell-binding, utterly mysterious, and almost dream-like. Such a stunning way of words.

This story follows three half-sisters who are called back to their father’s home in Cornwall for a reunion. After growing apart following a tragic event in their childhood, the sisters return, clutching their individual secrets. But somebody else knows their secrets and is determined for the truth about that awful event to come out.

This book is so richly written, flashing back to the girls’ childhoods and painting a full picture of their characters (you’ll get the pun when you read it

Found this book difficult to read continuously. I'd have to read a bit, put it down and re pick it back up sometime later.
