This book was such an amazing book. I’ve read a lot of body image books in the past but this one includes the last piece, God! Highly recommend especially for recovery from an eating disorder.

Jess beautifully challenges herself and readers through this book to reclaim the view of our bodies and agree with God that they are GOOD. I spent the last 6 months reading this book with a couple ladies and discussing the questions from the chapter and takeaways. Throughout this book, we were challenged to renew our minds and replace the ways we’ve treated our bodies with ways God has called us to treat them.

I love Jess’ questions throughout the book and also the way she invites readers regularly to pause and ask God, “How do You feel about my body? What do You have to say about my body? How would You like me to apply this?” and actually hearing from God instead of just listening to the noisy culture around us. The testimonies are encouraging, the Scriptures are evident throughout, and this book was overall a joy to dive into. Every chapter felt like a conversation with a friend, and I love the reminders for our forgetful hearts.

I would say with confidence that this book is not only applicable for women of all life stages/generations, but a necessary read. Jess Connolly’s kingdom-minded approach to liberate women from beauty standards has impacted me from social media alone, so reading her book has done so tenfold! I anticipate this one being continual resource; it’s definitely not a read and put back on the shelf book. She is an excellent question-asker, but leads by answering those hard questions with personal vulnerability. I know the Holy Spirit will use this one to bring lots of women (myself included) to freedom in their relationship with their bodies!!

Jess Connolly combines faith and personal experience to address body image struggles. With a Christian perspective, Connolly offers practical guidance for readers to overcome body shame, build empowering communities, and embrace their identity as children of God. This book provides a holistic approach to healing and self-acceptance.

There is no other person who could have written a book as insightful, challenging, and brave. Jess presents her journey with a pastoral heart that longs for others to experience the same freedom she has received. I loved this so much. She puts principles and actions behind how Scripture teaches us to view our bodies. Your body is already good.

I listened to the audiobook and loved Jess’ narration!

Girls. Women. All of you. You need to get this book. Grab the book. Download the audiobook. Whatever you need to do. I promise. It’ll change your life, your thinking, your heart.
.
I started reading this last summer and then life, but I got back into it in January and finished a few days ago. I know I’ve still got some things to process through and some notes to take and questions to work through. But this is worth the work.
.
I want to be free. Don’t you? Don’t wait on this life of abundance and freedom that each of your beautiful ladies deserve. Can’t wait for this revival with you all.

The main message of the book was good but it kept repeating itself over and over again. It could have been a much smaller book. There are parts that I’m trying to figure out if are theological sound but the main message she was trying to say was good and right.

I FOUND THIS BOOK DOING TWO THINGS TO ME AS I READ IT.

1). IT GREW MY ABILITY TO BE COMPASSIONATE TOWARDS OTHERS, AS IT REVEALED TO ME MANY WAYS THAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HURT BY OTHER PEOPLE. WAYS I HAD BEEN BLIND TO UNTIL READING THIS BOOK.

2). IT GREATLY ENCOURAGED ME. JESS WRITES IN SUCH A COMPELLING WAY THAT - WHILE I WAS NOT THE INTENDED AUDIENCE FOR THIS BOOK - IT HAS BROUGHT ABOUT SO MUCH ENCOURAGEMENT, JOY, AND FREEDOM IN MY OWN LIFE.

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH SERIOUSLY, MAKE THIS THE NEXT BOOK YOU READ (ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK WITH YOUNG WOMEN IN ANY CAPACITY, OR IF BODY SHAME HAS BEEN SOMETHING YOU YOURSELF HAVE WRESTLED WITH).
