I really hate how I compare these types of stories to Harry Potter! I can't help it. In any event, this was a good sequel. I think I should have reread the Night Brothers to get my barrings. Can we give a cheer for Elsa??

I enjoyed this book, but nowhere near as much as the first one. There were moments in this book where I felt bored and for a middle grade i don't feel like that's what should happen. However Amari is still the loveable character and Elsie quickly became a fave in this book.
The writing was still lovely and the plot and writing were both still enjoyable

TL;DR: A young woman performs an investigation when she’s accused of helping create a time bubble. She’s struggling to expand her circle of people when realizing her friend may not be available all the time.
