I gave this book 3.75 stars! It was my first time reading something with this vibe, and honestly, it was a bit confusing at first. I struggled to get into it and even thought about giving up. But as I kept going, I started to enjoy it more. The story was unexpected and different, which kept things interesting. I liked following the life of this family as their stories unfolded in the house—the good times, the bad times, and even the sadder moments. That said, some characters really annoyed me. Anna and Louie, in particular, drove me crazy with their actions, and Arthur, Grayson, and Ella didn’t always win me over either. Thankfully, Maggie’s character was a standout—what a woman! The last 50% of the book was much better than the first half, and I’m glad I stuck it out to the end. The conclusion was satisfying, and Cassie’s writing style grew on me as I read. It wasn’t perfect, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. I’m definitely curious to see what Cassie writes next!
