This book kept breaking my heart over and over again. There were multiple times where I cried my eyes out… so it took me some time to read this book… but I am so glad I did read it! Such a beautiful story!

Anna went through many challenges in her years and one of them was giving birth to her second child, Ella. Her firstborn, Louie, was always perfect, no matter what he did and Ella was mostly invisible.. well, not to her dad Grayson of course.

As the years went by there were many other obstacles in Anna’s life and believe me, they were so heartbreaking… I couldn’t believe how many plot twists and unfortunate events appeared in this book.

I am so glad that Ella’s part of the book had redemption in it and also it uncovered the secrets from the past and people were able to act on it.

Ella’s part of the book was definitely my favourite.

I am looking forward to Cassie’s next book!

I highly recommend Cassie Steward's debut novel - it's an emotional journey that will tug at your heartstrings.

The story spans 50 years and two families as they deal with loss, secrets, family, and hope.  It does an excellent job of weaving the backstory into the present day. I loved how each chapter revealed a new secret that shaped the characters and made the story even better. Anna, the main character, will make you feel all her pain and frustration as you follow her on her journey.

Overall, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves an engaging novel that will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.  Thank you to the author and @bookbabespr for a gifted copy.

What a brilliant debut novel from Cassie. The characters are complex and extremely well written, and the plot is happy, heartbreaking, sad, funny, and so relatable for a lot of people.

The book is split between the past and the present, and I loved how a present chapter made me want to read the next chapter, usually set in the past, to find out what happened.

I can't wait to see what else Cassie writes!

Oh my !!

Superb debut novel , telling the tale of Anna who lives at Number 32 , she was once a wife and mother and is now old unkempt and having to sell her house .

Does anyone ever truly know the secrets that are held within the walls of a home or behind a front door ? As Anna starts to clear out the house with the help of her neighbours son Arthur we learn the story of Anna and her husband Grayson , Her neighbour Maggie and her son .

A heartwarming gut wrenching emotional rollercoaster telling the story of life .

Highly recommended to all well done Cassie ☺️
