Super fast read!  Had my attention the entire time and I didn’t see the ending coming!

When parents’ weekend at a prestigious university turns deadly, secrets unravel fast and no one is safe. With old connections resurfacing, the investigation takes more than a few surprising turns.
Parents Weekend was a quick, addictive read, I flew through it in a single day. While the mystery itself was a bit predictable, it was still interesting to follow, especially with all the red herrings woven in. I really enjoyed the addition of Sarah Keller and the clever Easter eggs referencing Finlay’s previous books. My only downside was that the “villain” felt a bit stereotypical, but overall, this was an engaging thriller that kept me hooked until the end.

I probably would have given this three stars, but Finlay gets an extra star for the accuracy of the setting.  I've read many a book written by a non Bay Area native and you can always tell.  Here, Finlay made a point to really know the area.  He even mentions the 7 Eleven on Benton and The Alameda!  The story itself wasn't surprising, but it was a fun read.

This was okay. Somewhat predictable and lacking a good twist. I think more character development was needed jn order to truly care about the characters. (Audiobook)

I really like The Nigh Shift but haven’t found another book by the author to like since and this? It sounded like it would be good but just from the way it wasn’t written I had doubts and following along this story of dysfunctional family nonsense that has nothing to do with anything and then the truth of what happened… it was all so pointless and dumb. I wish I could get my time back. I don’t think I’ll be reading the author’s work again.
