There's nothing inherently wrong about this book, I honestly just didn't care about it while I was listening to it. Nothing really interested me: the romance, the characters, the plot. My ears perked a little during the mystery subplot with Lucius but I quickly lost interest with that too, considering how quickly it's resolved. I kept wanting it to be Bridgerton even though I haven't read the books. Maybe clean historical romance just isn't for me.

This book was an incredible, feminist, heartwarming read. I will say it does use heighted language so it took a little longer for me to read it than a non period book. But I liked that it used the heightened langauge because it felt true to the period and reminded me of a jane austen novel!! I am totally in my enemies to lovers era right now and this booked scratched that itch perfectly. Whilst also allowing the ladies of the registry to take back their power and get husbands on their own terms which is such a cool concept and not something that is regularly done in regency romances. The book also shows a strong, healthy female friendship, which was so refreshing to read about. I would love to see a movie adaptation of this book!
