This wasn't as suspenseful as the first book, but these are like suspenseful pieces of candy. They are written at a very readable level, so they really fast reads. Not the most intellectually stimulated I have ever been, but these are kind of like the romance novels of suspense books. Terrific beach read or if you just don't wan to have to think too hard.

Really enjoyed this. I liked that we got to learn more about Rizzoli as a character, I hope she continues to be the lead for the rest of the series. I can't wait to read the next book!
Graphic: Rape, Murder, and Kidnapping
Moderate: Torture and Stalking
Minor: Gun violence

I loved it!
Rizzoli and Dean>>>>
The murder investigation was amazingly written. However, I thought that the 2nd serial killer deserved to have more attention, why he started to kill, what he was thinking, etc.

The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen is the second book in the Rizzoli and Isles series. This one circles around a copy cat of Warren Hoyt, the killer in the previous novel. Hoyt then manages to escape from prison and team up with the copy cat killer in order to pursue Rizzoli.
I absolutely loved how intense it was. Several times i had to put the book down. The things that this murderer did were horrific on top of the excerpts of Hoyt's point of view.
I like the idea of a copy cat killer, but not so close to the first book. The entire first half of the book felt like a recycled plot.
Despite the recycled feeling, I would give it 4/5 stars.
