I loved this book. It was what I'd imagined before I knew there would BE a book -- a companion piece to the podcast-turned-television show. This format allowed Sam and Graham to convey more information about all their destinations and guests than the show will allow, and it provides a good dose of Scottish history, as well. Well done!

What an awesome book!

I won't lie, at first I started reading this book because of Sam and Graham but stayed for the history. Very unexpected, I didn't know this book would be a trip back to Scotland's past. I thought it was going to be another book about actor's lives. It made me fall in love even more with the county and eager to go and visit all the castles and museums.

If you love history and reading about it, this book is for you. It has the right amount of humor, witty, and mischief mixed with blood, warriors and war time stories.

May be a fun read for fans of Outlander, but I’ve never watched an episode or read the books. Was hoping for more road trip and history, less anecdotes about the show and their careers.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun journey through the Scottish highlands with lots of banter and joking to break up the historical accounts of the various clans and highland life. There were also somd nice personal stories from both Sam and Graham which made them feel more like friends during the journey. Being a fan of Outlander, I loved some of the stories from the set. Overall very enjoyable, and I recommend the audiobook as well.

This was a really nice light hearted read that at points really made me laugh. I was already a fan of the show outlander which is the main reason that I picked this book up. I love their relationship and how they tease each other. I would also highly recommend listening to the audiobook for this one.

The absolute best audiobook to listen to on a roadtrip through Scotland! So thankful to have this book as a companion on my dream trip through the Highlands. Their banter will keep you laughing and their storytelling provides an important historical context beyond just what you see in Outlander.

Graham McTavish’s voice has a direct line to my lady parts.

10.5 hours of Sam Heughn and Graham McTavish bantering in their smooth Scottish voices? Yes please! I couldn’t decide which would be better: reading the book with photos of all the places they traveled or listening to their voices the whole time. I chose audio and it was everything I wanted it to be!

The book gives amazing background and history on the Scottish highlands and clan life pre-Culloden. Intermixed is Sam and Graham’s bantering friendship, which made this sound more like a long podcast than an audiobook.

For fans of Outlander or even just fans of Scotland, this is a fabulous choice—highly recommend!
