Even if you don’t know Sam and Graham’s work, you will enjoy this book. The audiobook in particular is a 10/10 would recommend. They act like children but have such deep respect for history and Scotland.

This was such a fun read! Part history of Scotland, part memoir, part behind-the-scenes, Sam and Graham really delve into every aspect of their homeland with childlike glee. Their banter is fantastic and made me laugh out loud multiple times.

This audio book was a lot of fun and informative too!

If you've ever been to Scotland, you just know...it's amazing! Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish wonderfully convey their love of Scotland in this book that follows along on their tour around the country. It's about friendship, history, and whisky. I loved the format of storytelling along with interludes that really show the personalities of the two writers.

The audio version is especially wonderful:)

Cute book, a little bit of everything. I took the history with a bit of salt, but it was fun and Sam and Graham poking fun at each other kept them from getting too annoying.

If you’re going to read this book, you HAVE to pick it up via audiobook. Both Sam and Graham narrate it and the banter between them would be lost in just reading it physically.

This is a delightful brief history of Scotland and a tale of friendship between two costars. If you’re a fan of the Outlander show and even if you’re not, I think this is a fun read.

Very fun read. Based on the reviews I had been worried that Heughan and MacTavish talk too much about themselves but that was not the case. I actually was interested in reading the book because of -you guessed it - Outlander and I was not disappointed. It is really helpful to have seen the series because they often reference episodes ftom the series. I love Graham MacTavish's dry humor and actually preferred his passages.

You get to know about both of the actors' family and acting background, which is actually really interesting, especially in MacTavish's case but you does not get it vomited upon you but you rather get it in small pieces every now and then. But that is just the smallest part of the novel. You get a huge amount of interesting Highland history with fun stories about historical figures. Sam and Graham also made snide remarks and lighten up the tough topics.

It is a great mix between travel stories, history and biography and I really enjoyed reading it.
