Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish started their friendship on the set of Outlander, a tv show based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. Their relationship has since bloomed into what can only be described as a true “Bromance”. Taking advantage of their great chemistry, they started a new film series called “The Clanlands” where they set out across the Scottish countryside in a small RV, exploring, eating, and of course drinking all the Scotch Whiskey they could find. They begin in Glencoe and travel the country, experiencing all of Scotland’s greatest treasures along the way. Their book aptly titled The Clanlands is a diary of their thoughts as the show was being filmed. They also were responsible for recording the audiobook version and listening to it was like being in the RV with these two as they constantly take jabs at each other for our entertainment. The book is full of history and hilarity, it has recipes, great Scotland travel advice and incredible recommendations when it comes to drinking around the country. I was already in love with them but this book locked them further into my heart!

Silly fun for fans of the Outlander TV show and books. Now I adore these two handsome Scots as much as the next lass. The banter was incessant, went past the point of charming. There are long stretches of historical information which are interesting. The parts about the making of the TV show are fun if you're into insider points of view.
Read this on vacation which was great. Its light-hearted, vain, but still cute (assuming you already love Sam and Graham).
I'd only recommend this if you adore the TV show. Otherwise, it wouldn't be interesting.

3.5. Entertaining and full of good information, if a bit chaotically strung together.

Started funny, ended funny, but the middle drug on. A mix of friendly banter between two Scottish actors mixed with some history. The actual history explanations of the people and places they learned about was poorly written. Not described enough and the way it was mixed with the humor and descriptions of Sam and Graham's travel made it so hard to follow. I could read about their adventures more, but some of it just got old. I got some good laughs and love these actors even more though. Oh, and I still must visit Scotland to better understand the history myself.
