En el momento que él dio vida a una criatura y la abandonó sin darle una identidad, un nombre, fue el primer acto de deshumanización hacia esto, llamándola engendro o demonio a algo que él hizo con sus propias manos. Esta criatura fue producto de la humanidad, desde su creación hasta su transformación en un ser cruel y vengativo. El rechazo constante, desde el primer momento que abrió los ojos ya lo largo de su vida por personas a las que llegó a apreciar, lo transformó en ese demonio que su creador nombró desde el comienzo. A pesar de su tamaño y su figura detestable, era su primera vez en este mundo, del cual solo recibió maltratos. Las desgracias de Frankenstein, causadas por la criatura, son un ejemplo de cómo el ser humano causa su propia destrucción.

The only book from school that I enjoyed reading so much I decided to read it again years later
Mary Shelley was a genius, don't get me wrong: she paved the way for sci-fi as a genre and for several other authors. But, that being said, I just can't get into her writing. Wish I could, though, to really experience and enjoy it.

I have never read Frankenstein before this and I can fully say that I now understand why this is considered a classic. It was nothing like I expected and incredible. Of course this work of literature has inspired centuries of sci-fi and horror long after its publication. Mary Shelley is the founder of that and she well deserves the honor.

The story was not at all what I was expecting based on the little I've gleaned about Frankenstein from popular media (there's no moment where he yells, "it lives!"). This story was beautifully written and thought-provoking.
