Another page-turner, full of surprises and great characters. Heart-stopping ending. I'm loving the series.

I have to say I am disspointed with A Heart so Fierce and Broken. I had high expectation for Miss Kemmerer to make the sequel as good as the first book. The story is more on the plot instead of the characters. There are a lot of friend to foe dynamic and not so much on the romance. Sure I like Grey.

I guess I am also disappointed with Rhen. I love him on the first book. Looking at his character now who became cruel and cold, makes my heart ache. I want more Lia Mara on the center of the story. I want her to bring the twist and drama. But the author more focusing on Grey.

hmmm idk how to feel about this one.... i didn't like it as much as the first one. I was hoping this would be a combination of 4 character POVS, but sadly we mainly had Grey and Lia Mara. I feel like the story would have had so much more substance if we got to see both sides of the situation, and it would still had an effective plot twist at the end.

I didn't like how we saw Harper and Rhen get reduced to villains without proper development. We as readers were just to take it as it was, however you cant have a first novel dedicated to them and then not even attempt to characterize them well in the second.

Lastly, this book felt very easy. I feel like the stakes weren't raised at all, and none of the characters had much struggle other than mentally.
