It was a great fast read. It didn’t hold me on the suspense but the plot moved quickly to keep my interest.
Ellie did not possess the strong characteristics and character development after being a pawn in so many games. Ash was not deserving of her, it would be great if had proved himself to

If i were just rating this on beauty and the beast retelling i would give it a 5/5 because so many scenes were so similar to the movie and i loved it.
Now Ash (his name was Ashland which is like what?) had this mentality that he was better than everyone else. Even when it came to Ellie i never felt a moment where he allowed her to be equal to him. I think he confused the dominance in the bedroom with real life.
in the third act break up he did nothing to earn his place back with Ellie and that was frustrating.
Also the plot was really repetitive but it was a fun smut read that was similar to my favorite movie so it got points.

This book was wild from start to finish! There were so many plot twists between Jason being evil and her bad being an awful person. I love Ash and Ellie’s relationship. In the beginning it took me a minute to get used to their relationship as it wasn’t totally consensual but she was still into it. 4.5/5 stars!
As a new explicit romance reader in the late 20'10 I would have found this book captivating.
Sold, captive (doubious consent) , mafia boss, alphahole, combative yet accomodating heroine and bdsm both as sex acts and as disciplinary actions. Flogging, caning, spanking. No safe word. Aftercare.
In general sex acts: edgeplay (not my favourite), lots of oral, vibrator use, sex and some sexy deapthroating
As a more seasoned romance reader I found this a pleasant if old book. Decently well written (this is not my favourite kind of smut but it was well done), tropey but satisfying. I don't think that I will reach for this author again but if you are in the mood for this type of book this is a short and good one.
What is the most surreal part: him being in the mob, her Stockholm syndrome or his tendency in giving more than receiving while having sex?
A pet peeve of mine: when in a bdsm novel the antagonist is kink shamed. Don't get me wrong it was not pleasant but in a book about embracing your desires it seems counterintuitive.

Hot hot hot… I loved this - if you want something a bit kinky , easy to read and well written you can’t go wrong. Forget Christian Grey, all you need is Ashland Titon. 🌶😁😍🥵🔥

It's not often I get to sneak a non ARC book into my reading schedule but I just knew that I needed to give this one a read. It sounded like a book that would be RIGHT up my alley, and it WAS. It was very well written. The pace was perfect. The plot was engaging and kept me interested throughout. Lasy, it was all wrapped up in an OK ending. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue that gave us a peek at this couple in the future, but maybe there are more books coming and we will see them again in those.
~HERO~
ASH...I liked him. He was sexy. He was scarred. He was tortured. He was alpha. He knew his way around some discipline. He was pretty much all in with Ellie from the start. I would have liked to have seen maybe a bit more softness towards Ellie. Their sex scenes were all very strict and hard. So I found his sudden declaration that he loved her a bit hard to swallow. But overall he was a good hero.
~HEROINE~
ELLIE...I liked her just as much as Ash. She was sweet. Maybe a little naive and a little too accepting of everything Ash was doing to her straight out of the gate. But that didn't annoy me too much. She was an enjoyable heroine.

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There were a couple interesting secondary characters in this one. I am hoping that Peter gets his own book as he intrigued me a lot. Danny as well. Those two are really the only ones that play any significant role in the book.
~HEAT LEVEL~
High. The sex scenes in this one were smokin' hot and plentiful. A lot of Dom/sub interactions. Spanking. Belt use. That type of thing. The couple had good on page chemistry as well.
~ANGST LEVEL~
Low. I didn't find this one particularly angsty. There are a few bumps in the road (mostly near the end) but nothing over the top. There is no OW or OM drama either. Neither were virgins and the past sex life talk is kept to a minimum.
~IN THE END~
I enjoyed it a lot and I hope this author plans to write more books featuring these characters in the future. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two solid thumbs up.

What did I just read?! And why did I awkwardly like it? There is so much in this book which made me cringe and get me hot at the same time... like wtf?!
The smutty scenes are the best and the worst I've ever read. That is how my feelings are... I liked this book but also hated it.
I have to admit that this book is still better than most smutty reads I've read in the past.
A solid three stars for this Beast of a book.
