A great novel for fans of the Iliad, but also the Iliad contains major spoilers. it's nice reading reworkings of classical fiction that acknowledge queer existence, however some of the characterisation was quite frustrating and at times quite shallow.

Hmm. The second half of the book was redeeming but felt slow. The characters didn't feel like they had full personalities and whenever there was a hint of one, it was brief. I am surprised how highly recommended this book is. There was certainly a lot of potential there but I was never that enthralled or excited to keep reading. It felt... bland.
