The story was good. A page turner, I had to give it that. It reminded of the Triwizard competition of the Goblet of Fire, Professor Quirrell, and Cedric Diggory, a lot. Clearly this works is inspired a lot from other contemporary works on Magic school. But despite being a decent story and short one at that, I felt no connection to the writing which felt very dry and lifeless. It doesn't need to be poetic but it needs to be a little more inviting. Author tries hard to be funny and at some places it shows, in a dreary manner.

A one time read.

I would have liked the series much better when I was younger. Still, it's fun and whimsical.

Un tome mieux que le premier, qui a plus d’action et de mystère.

An enjoyable story, interesting main character, not your usual sort of protagonist.
