Nope, sorry, I can't finish this one. I have low expectations for romance novels and actually love when they're unrealistic - but I draw the line at issues with health and safety. Freya is so obsessed with looking cute that she refuses to wear a coat and proper footwear for snow. There are multiple mentions of her not wearing cold weather appropriate clothing because fashion is much more important to her. One of the early chapters also tells us that the characters would be going camping and I didn't read far enough to learn what happened on their camping trip. But I'm imagining frostbite. I just ... ugh. I can't deal with that type of woman. I've come across a few other books with overly social media- and designer clothing-obsessed heroines and I always give up quickly.

I did skip ahead to the candy cane scene everyone was talking about. I was curious, OK? All I could think about was how she's going to get a yeast infection. And he asks if she wants to fe f***ed by the candy cane...that was supposed to be sexy? There is literally nothing sexy about that. No. For so many reasons. Please, for the love of God, do NOT put food (especially candy!) on, in, or around your lady bits.

Maybe it was good otherwise, I just couldn't get past the heroine.

It was pretty fine.

It took me a bit to warm up to Finn His immediate dislike for Freya, calling her a traitor was too much. Like betrayed who?

And Freya you run a ski resort. By proper winter gear.

I liked them both and their relationship near the end.

Saint Nick was the star for me.

4.5⭐️ I love love loved this one! I’ve been looking for the perfect holiday rom com read and this one just topped the list for me. First off, Freya? Amazing, she’s been through so much in her life and she doesn’t even let on that she has or want to burden anyone with it. Finn? Incredible. So selfless, down to earth, and caring about everything and everyone. Loved the way that he fought his feelings for Freya when she first got to town but knew she was different. Loved the competition concept with the different stages, and I absolutely loved the small town feel

This was so good! I loved this. It was a super quick read and had all the warm cozy holiday feels I’m looking for. Freya was hilarious and Finn was grumpy but also the sweetest man. Their relationship was swoon worthy and delivered on the spice.

Jingle Wars was a cute little christmassy read for the winter period. I enjoyed the small snowy town vibe the book created.

Dual POV is a favourite of mine so I enjoyed hearing the sides of both characters. I loved hearing how they interpreted each others actions and words in comparison to what they actually thought deep down about each other.

The nicknames, the chemistry, the battle against actually being together (WITH AN ENEMY!!!), all of it was written beautifully.

The cabin scene was a personal favourite... sounded like heaven (minus the criminal food supply).

Grams and Gramps, what to say about them? Simply put, how clearly in love they are was just adorable!!!

I would definitely recommend this book to get yourself feeling festive for the christmas period.
