DNF. This is the first book I’ve not finished that I truly don’t plan on trying again later.

I want to read all the shadow hunter books in the order the author recommends, but I cannot get into this book. I love Magnus and the idea of Alec and him having their own love story. This book/plot feels inconsequential to the rest of the overall shadow hunter world. The only thing I’m sad I will be missing out on, is the romantic subplot.

WHAT

okay, first - this was an absolute pleasure to read.
every page.
every appearance by the so very many characters from the Shadowhunter world (some we love, some we hate, some we have complicated feelings about - and some that make me cry with the mere mention of their names) and every way this folds into the Shadowhunter universe.

as it takes place during Magnus and Alec's vacation in COFA, there is plenty that all of these characters don't know is coming, but readers do, which is both a blessing and a curse (no pun intended). I did cry (a lot) at the beginning of the epilogue because I am a TID girl, and I will leave it at that.

BUT THIS ENDING
WHAT IN THE SAM HILL
I did NOT see that coming and seriously, I don't think anyone could
and here is when reading an ARC is definitely a curse because BOOK TWO
I need it now
