The falling in love with death trope is done to death as of late but it is a trope I adore šŸ˜‚ The murder mystery aspect of the story does give a fresh spin on it though. The story is slow to get started but my interest was alway peaked. A nice story that has potential to be expanded on

I have been wanting to be get to this book for awhile now since itā€™s been on my shelves for a little over a year, and Belladonna did not disappoint! I loved the who-done-it aspects of the book when it came to figuring out the murderer and their motives bc I was pleasantly surprised when it came to the reveal and the way it happened. And can we talk about the love interest Death šŸ¤ Signa really lucked out with him bc he does NOT play about his girl fr AHHH I was obsessed with those two.

I enjoyed this book.  I didn't know what the book was about, just that it was being recommended by people who like the kind of things I like.  So a gothic mystery was not what I was expecting.  I don't typically like mystery, so a 5 star from me is high praise.

This book does have some spice in it, but it was very tastefully done.  I will absolutely be reading the next one!

Very predictable. Writing was very simple and straightforward.

My main frustration is that Death/Sylas was begging Signa to choose himā€¦ so she does. JUST FOR HIM TO SAY SIKE NO ONE IS DYING SO IM LEAVING NOW?

A YA mystery pseudo romance with an anthropormophized version of Death. I kept expecting her to ask for Death's real name. I feel like a lot of books I've read recently somehow all end up set in a somewhat haunted giant old manor with a mystery and a vague enemies to lovers (thinking in particular of "House of Marionne"). Other than the fact that Death himself was a main character, I didn't find this all that dark or gothic. I thought the mystery was better developed than the romance.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! So this book has been on my TBR since the Scream Into The Void girlies told me about itā€¦ and they were not lying, this book was STUNNING.

Iā€™m so happy that I read this book.
It had all the amazing things a book can have: a badass main character, a murder mystery, paranormal fantasy, romance with the mysterious Death, betrayals and twists that will make you jump and run around the room (I did), and beautiful imagery of Thorn Grove !!!!!!

The murder mystery had me so stressedā€¦ I honestly did not call the ending. Well part of it ā€¦ hehehehehehe

The romance between Death and Signa ā€¦ HAWT but also I love them together. They are just two lonely people (not really but just go with it) that found someone who they truly connect with and feel cared for by.

Have I not convinced you yet?
Okā€¦ well put on those headphones and turn on Hozier ā€¦ it will transport you.

During the ball when Signa is wearing her red dress, I picture the song ā€œI Hear A Symphonyā€ by Cody Fry playing. Just play that with headphones on as you read that chapter and the vibes are unmatched.

THE ENDING WTF?!?! Omg, I have so many thoughts and so many feelings!!!!!
Marjorie not being the bad guy shook me because from the start, she was suspicious to me. Anyway, Percy being so evil and twisted and horrible was probably more of a shock to me than it should have been. He wasnā€™t the perfect son or perfect sibling, but I thought he was salvageable? Lol what else? Fate just showing up at the endā€¦ I did see that one coming. I mean they kept mentioning him. The one thing I did guess was that Sylas and Death are one and the same. I called that once I kept reading how they interacted with Signa.

Gothic, historical murder mystery with well developed characters and interesting plot. The FMC, Signa is able to see spirits and even Death himself.

When Signaā€™s aunt dies, she is sent to live with her uncle and cousins at Thorn Grove where she stumbles upon a murder mystery.

Belladonna is a great book full of twists and turns, mysteries and some romance.

I canā€™t wait to read more.
