Let me start off by saying that while this book is everything a fantasy love looks for in a fantasy read, such as enemies to lovers trope, best friends trope, found family, magic, powers, islands, kingdoms and magical creatures of all kinds (Gods, shifters, Valkyries, elves, giants & DRAGONS), this book is not for the faint of heart.
Tragedy and heartbreak are key themes in this read, and my heart was definitely broken. This book will bring out your emotions. The cliffhanger was hard for me to come to terms with. However, I cannot wait for more of the series, especially with the dragons, and I loved the overall vibes of the book. I appreciated how much more details were provided, and I definitely loved every single plot twist that hit me and left me stunned.
At the start, some scenes were a bit slow paced for me (which I didn't mind because this time I wanted to take my time reading), but then it really picked up and took off and I grew impatient to know more as I read along.
The highlight for me was definitely how the author beautifully captured strong, intense, genuine and HEALTHY love in both a romantic sense and within friendships. I loved that loyalty, affection, adoration, care and true love were shown within friendships as well. This series is a must read for fantasy/romantasy readers.

She has done it again. Built a world where I am in love with the characters to only have my heart ripped out in the last 100 pages.
Kian is such a possessive and protective mate. He truly would do anything for Lilian and it shows.
Watching Lilian grow throug her grief and finally accepting her strength has me grinning in my seat. The dark queen is my favourite. She is caring and loving but also vicous and possessive. I love it!!
The betrayal at the end of this book. I could sense it was coming and something seemed off about it all but it still had me going OMG when it happened.
