🤌🤌 She can write no wrong 🤌🤌
This is my third book by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and it’s the third 5* 💫 I could let that speak for itself BUT
Omg this book was exactly what I needed at the time - trying to stay awake after a long conference on a 7 hour journey that was delayed to 9 hours AND THIS BOOK DID IT !!
The drama, the tension, the intrigue - every story line kept my heart rate up, I struggled to put it down. Fantastic writing, interesting characters who you love to love and love to hate, and just impeccable settings in that glitzy but sleazy 1950’s Hollywood <3
I’ve loved each book by this author for the drama she wrapped in different flavours - love, horror and I’d say this one was tension

Outside my usual wheelhouse of books by this author, The Seventh Veil of Salome is quite the imaginative story.
The story itself is told from multiple perspectives and that is where I tended to struggle quite a bit as it tied into the pacing which in turn, made the plot less than tolerable. The characters themselves are interesting enough but we get many inner dialogues and it doesn’t help move the pacing along much. Where this author continue to shines is how she handle discussions on race.
For the most part, this is an interesting tale. If you’re a fan of Hollywood noir and the grit of old movies, then this book is right up your alley.
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read/review.

Based on her other books, this fits right along with the pace and thrilling ending intensity. It was both refreshing and shocking to see her ground character development in historical context (1950s Hollywood). And it was fun to have the parallels between Vera and Salome and their lessons respectively on freedom and choice. This ending did feel a bit rushed, but overall another great book by one of my fave contemporary authors
