I liked this so much better than Mexican Gothic. The premise is unique and extremely intriguing. The POVs were all fascinating in their own way, though I especially love reading about Salome. It felt a bit like Evelyn Hugo, but darker, so if you like reading about the dark side of the acting industry and/or biblical fiction, I would recommend this book.

It’s an interesting book, lots of complex storytelling. It’s the classic “replay the story of the past in present day” Maybe some parts could’ve been taken out but it’s a good book club book!

There were parts of this book I found wonderful and parts I found less than, so this book was overall just okay for me. The villain is super well done- honestly my favorite part of the whole book. The “dance” was also well done, especially after all the lead up- I thought the way it was described was perfection.
My main complaint is how abruptly it ended. There was a part of me that kinda liked the way we found out what ultimately happened, but I was really hoping for one more chapter from the villain’s perspective. There was a sort of, tying up loose ends, hurry up and finish feel to the ending that I didn’t like. Overall a good read.

I've enjoyed 5 of Moreno-Garcia's books before this, but I found this one a bit boring. I kept waiting for the point of it to be revealed. It had no magic or magic realism like most of her books do and I didn't particularly love or dislike the characters.
