I support women’s rights, but more importantly I support women’s wrongs 💅🏻

Lara was hands down the best thing about this book and I can’t wait to see her fully unleashed and not hiding her skills in the second book. Everyone else sorta makes me roll my eyes but I’m a simp for a female assassin so like.. what do you want from me???

I really liked it! I love betrayal, badass fmc and spies/missions so this hit the spot! Super easy to fly through and made me INVESTED esp the start 😍 - some things I wasn’t the biggest fan of like Aren sometimes but I liked Lara

I was hoping for more spice earlier on. This was more about adventurous sea fare. sex came around 82%.

I docked a whole star because the decision to not admit about the inked paper was a plot device. I lost faith in the author for creating a more textured plot.

I’ll continue with book two to resolve the cliffhanger ending. But I doubt this will be as spiced as like like

finally got to read this one after following the hype on bookstagram for quite some time. the first chapter was quite intense and got me hooked immediately. i admire the complex world-building and the characters. aren and lara and many of the side characters are very well crafted, though i wished to learn more about some of them (e.g. jor, taryn, annah). the character development of, particularly, lara was incredible and i loved how the story and her views on everything evolved. however, i got one word for you: miscommunication. gosh, how i hate this trope. i mean, i totally expected to happen exactly what happened but, needless to say, i hated it and it had me almost throw my kindle aggressively and incredibly frusted against a wall. i'm super excited about the second book and hope everything will be resolved then.
