I was sitting on this one for quite a while so let me just make this easier for you... If you love Celaena, Aelin or any other strong minded female assasin girlie
that turns her life around and completely reevaluates everything because she's been lied to her whole life,
THIS IS YOUR SHIT. Lara is strong, sassy, witty beyond reason and all-around a tortured little soul 😇 You just gotta love her. There's a cute cat and a cute ass enemies to lovers love trope + the friendships/relationships formed are to die for! This book gives you a lot of surprises if you don't search things or read ahead (had to stop myself a couple times cause it was sooo good I needed to know more sooner XD). It's fast paced and the story just pulls you in. I know it's relative to give bonus points for but the world is absolutely gorgeous (if your brains work the fantasy part just like mine). There's 3 books rn, nothing too long... 4th one comes out 10.2033. READ, ENJOY!

finally got to read this one after following the hype on bookstagram for quite some time. the first chapter was quite intense and got me hooked immediately. i admire the complex world-building and the characters. aren and lara and many of the side characters are very well crafted, though i wished to learn more about some of them (e.g. jor, taryn, annah). the character development of, particularly, lara was incredible and i loved how the story and her views on everything evolved. however, i got one word for you: miscommunication. gosh, how i hate this trope. i mean, i totally expected to happen exactly what happened but, needless to say, i hated it and it had me almost throw my kindle aggressively and incredibly frusted against a wall. i'm super excited about the second book and hope everything will be resolved then.
