'A Tropical Fish Yearns for Snow, Volume 1' by Makoto Hagino is the start of a sweet yuri manga about two girls connecting through the aquarium club at their school.
Konatsu is new and trying to find her footing at her new school. During her first day, she stumbles upon the aquarium club's open house and in the process meets Koyuki. The two girls instantly hit it off and when Konatsu learns that it is a school requirement to join a club, she has to decide if she will join the aquarium club to be close to Koyuki or take up her new friend Kaede's invite to join the Home Economics club.
This manga is relatively slow paced but it feels appropriate as Konatsu gets her footing in her new school. She's definitely feeling uncomfortable but it is uplifting to see how other students help her as well as the budding friendship (or something more) with Koyuki. I also love all of the animals in this first volume. I hope that future volumes will delve more into how the aquarium club is run as Konatsu and Koyuki grow closer together.

After having read 2 volumes of "Yuri is my job", I really needed this cute, fluffy and healthy story! So much better than the other manga, and I can't wait to begin the 2nd volume!
I also love how it's not directly said that she has a romantic crush. It could for now just be a platonic crush, since she's not used to having honest friends or a club member. I mean, she does have friends outside of school, but everyone in school just uses her because of her perfect and kind appearance.
I know a bit how that feels like, and when someone finally does take your loneliness away, you just can't help but to be extremely happy and daydream about stuff, as well as get flustered every time you get closer!
