The first half is a bit rough, only because Hobb spends so much time retelling the stories of the Live Ship and Rain Wilds. After all that awkwardness is sorted, things go well. Bee is an absolute triumph in every way. And Fitz is Fitz in all the ways we love him. He's, arguably, the greatest savior character in fantasy and the final culmination of his works is pretty fulfilling.

kicked my ass flayed me open and left me sobbing in the nook!!! genuinely the best ending I could have imagined for this series. had a few minor issues with it/this trilogy but rn I just feel such a wash of feelings over it being over. story that will rest with me for a very long while yet
