Daisy and Ryke’s relationship starts off as fast friends, despite the age difference.  Ryke feels a sense of duty to protect Daisy and is drawn to her over and over.

Their friendship may have been borderline inappropriate, but Ryke tried hard not to fall for her and he didn’t touch her until she was eighteen.  I don’t think he would have crossed the line prior to that.

I liked seeing more of Daisy being carefree, as she is the most sheltered Calloway sister.  The relationship between them is wild, reckless, all in.

I especially adored seeing the other relationships from Ryke and Daisy’s POVs.  They make them seem even sweeter than in their own books.  This book made me fall even more in love with Lily and Lo.

Okay, I LOVE DAISY. We need more characters with ADHD rep. But Ryke- I know he felt bad about it, but he was such a pedophile. She was FIFTEEN when he started sexualising her. FIFTEEN.

However, there relationship seemed really healthy, for the both of them. It was very fluffy and angsty and fun

“You’re a hothouse flower,” I tell her. “You can’t grow under natural conditions. You need adventure. And security and love in order to stay alive.”

i love them so much🥲🌼

The problem isn't the age gap, it's how old she was when he started to have sexual thoughts about her (she was literally 15 and he was 22 ??). I mean sure the book is easily read, it's sort of casual and fun at times (it's supposed to be a book in which you don't really analyse things) but they bring up the age thing so often to try and "justify it" that it becomes really impossible to ignore.
I could make a list of all the things Ryke said that prove he is a groomer (it's not even a wild interpretation but a simple fact). To be honest I get how appealing the plot can be for young readers but this is so SO dangerous and irresponsible from the writers .. Daisy being the one to engage things with Ryke does NOT mean that she wasn't groomed, Ryke waiting for her to be 18 does not mean that he's responsible and mature (it just means he doesn't want to go to jail).
There were other things that bothered me but this one was just so awful because you can't write about the mental health of a girl who has been sexualised her whole teenage years, just so she ends up with her groomer.

⚠️SPOILERS⚠️

this book was soooo good. ryke and daisy did not disappoint at all. sorta friends to lovers but i loved that ryke spent the night at daisys house because she had terrible nightmares. i also thought it was so sweet that ryke was researching ways to help daisy even though they were friends 🥺. i also loved seeing rykes thoughts about daisy because they were so sweet. i thought it was so sad when daisy almost shot ryke because she woke up from a nightmare and was so scared.

then daisy had to go to fashion week in paris because she was a model. but the designer kicked her out because she was “overweight” which is honestly disgusting because she was so thin at that point. and she called ryke having a panic attack AND HE FLEW ALL THE WAY TO PARIS TO CHECK ON HER. and that’s when they started dating but they wanted to keep it a secret from their families because they knew their families wouldn’t approve of them.

BOTH ROSE AND LILY ARE PREGNANT. connor is so excited to have a baby but rose was scared at first. and lily was afraid that lo would be upset because she never wanted kids but they are keeping the baby.

it’s kinda awkward that ryke knows french because he can understand connor and rose…

i felt bad but also happy for daisy after the riot. sad because she got really hurt and their is a permanent reminder on her face but also happy because it gave her more freedom. she quiet modeling forever because she hates it so know she can find something she loves doing. AND RYKE RAN 3 MILES WITH HER UNCONSCIOUS IN HIS ARMS 🥺🥺🥺.

but lo was soooo mad at ryke for lying about their relationship but he was willing to except it in the end which was good. but daisys mom didn’t take it so well because she called the police in ryke and said he was guilty for statutory rape which is crazy because nothing happened until she was 18. but that lead to ryke and his dad sorta making up. AND HE AGREED TO BECOME SOBER which is crazy and i hope he is successful.

wtf is wrong with daisys “friends”. they literally tried to rape her with a dildo but i’m so proud of her for having the courage to say no and walk away. but then so much other stuff happened because of that and that gave her PTSD and she can’t sleep now. that combined with her getting physically assaulted and the paparazzi breaking into her house and taking pictures of her.

overall i loved this book and right now i think daisy and ryke are my fav couple. all the little moments between them were great and i think their love language is physical touch because they are always touching each other.
