Before the coffee gets cold is an insightful and heartwarming book that is very easy to read and understand. Its simple writing style it's strength but sometimes it feels like the author over-explains how the characters feel instead of trusting the readers to come to those conclusions themselves. Nonetheless, the stories are a great read, that leave a bittersweet, hopeful taste in your mouth.

I really love the premise of a person getting the chance to revisit the past (and future) to talk to a certain person. I was a bit confused in the beginning, thinking we would follow the same characters. But it turned out to be even better!!!! Each chapter dealt with a relationship to spouse to siblings to someone this person had "never" met. Each one tugged on my heart strings and this book was BEAUTIFULLY written.

I have always passed by this title in bookstores and libraries, but have never thought to give it a read. The cover alone captivated my interest and I would have never, in a million years, expect this kind of impact it causes. This is definitely a must read and now, a reread/relisten.
