I read this book with Audrey and I highly recommend reading it with young girls. What a wonderful story and a gentle look at a difficult time for women as they worked to gain the right to vote. We both loved it and will be reading more from this author.

Pam Munoz Ryan is my new favorite author - and this is illustrated by Brian Selznick. This is a beautiful book!

this book was so great!!! it's so empowering and would've been great to read during women's history month. we read it as a class in my school over the month of january! it follows Charley and her passion for horses and working with horses, the ups and downs of her journey, and details the first time she voted! while women still weren't allowed to vote! Charley is so strong and so inspiring; my students really loved her story!
