I know I'll never love reading non-fiction books but Lim's writing style is very readable and, as someone who knew virtually nothing about Hong Kong's history, I feel like I learned a lot. I was appropriately angry by the end of this book. 香港人加油!

Not much new for me, but great for people who don't know much about HK. I like the title and cover :)

A very interesting narrative on not only Hong Kong's long and treacherous history of trying to claim their land as their own - but also the author's navigation between her role as a journalist and her role as a Hong Kong native. Informative and honestly pretty depressing read on how China has continued to silence Hong Kong year after year.
