Wooooowwww!!! There were so many twists, and a ton of misdirection throughout that it was hard at times to keep things straight. I knew right away that Mrs Baker definitely wasn’t who she was claiming to be. Her behavior was a huge indicator, but I couldn’t have begun to figure out who killed Mary

Daaaaaaang this one really threw me for a loop wtf
medium-paced

A bad story poorly written. Inconsistent, yet somehow repetitive; boring, except for the sections so barely conceived that I became angry. As a result of this book, I’m starting a Riley Seager hate club where I will hold all leadership positions.

First half of book was totally obnoxious with drawn out stage setting ‘I’m so afraid of this old lady,’ ‘eve  re home thinks I killed my mom.’ The narrator is obnoxious as shit with her being so dramatic. Lots of things were ‘figured out’ by this person or that person without explanation of how or why they knew that. Then twist after twist after ending after ending at the end… over the top in a lot of bad ways. At least the women weren’t like ‘I can’t say anything,’ well in a different way that was the case. Totally annoying book but mildly interesting plot.

This one had me gripped from a couple of chapters in - what a story! The author really knows how to keep you guessing and wanting to read on. I love the way I thought I had something figured out, only for it to be so very wrong. The twists were always a surprise, and even though it got a little convoluted at times, it never got to be so much that it was unbelievable.
Honestly, there were moments when I saw similarities to Verity, but this was a complete contrast in the way it had me hooked and wanting to keep reading, rather than reading so I could finish it.

Pulpy thriller. Would be a good holiday read, the 'but wait, there's more...' twists started to get a bit old though.
