This book is well written and descriptions of the characters and places really did conjure up the sea and island. I just think for me that it was overly strung out at some points and as another reviewer said as a child I might have appreciated more possibly. Glad I've read it but won't be one I'll revisit

I couldn't get into this book and I just didn't really like it.

Well written, and action packed. Easy to follow, despite being written 140 years ago.

Treasure Island is very much a product of its time and it is very obvious that the intended audience was young English boys. The pirates are dastardly and stupid because they are, our intrepid treasure hunters are heroic and brave and true and oh so very English. Silver is the most complicated and interesting character in the book (and pretty obviously Stevenson's favorite) but he's still a murderous black guard and a villain. If you want an adventurous romp that doesn't try to be anything else, it's a lot of fun.

i really wasn’t paying much attention to the first part but it didn’t hook me in like stevenson’s other works, jekyll and hyde, but it had some good moments, but nothing spectacular
im glad im reading classics tho!
