I read this as a tandem read-along on Instagram & throughly enjoyed the whole experience. The buddy-read group was great fun & probably added to my enjoyment of the book…..I received a free arc in return for an honest review:
‘Should I tell you’ is quite an enigmatic title & I was wondering what plot to expect from this latest Jill Mansell novel. Now I’ve finished it, the title question could apply to any one of a number of the characters & this is what made the book both interesting & original.
The format reminded me alot of the film, Love Actually. Not in terms of the story line itself but in the way we follow so many different- but slightly interlinked- characters & watch as their stories turn full circle. To start with I found the number of them to be a little mind boggling but it quickly falls into place & it’s an easy to follow, feel-good read.
I was particularly rooting for Lachlan throughout the book & also Benji. I felt the male characters were much stronger than the female ones- an unusual occurrence. A very sweet ending which although slightly predictable, was not at all patronising or cheesy. Great last line!
A lovely easy read which I very much enjoyed.

I love love Jill Mansell's books. Only problem is I read them too quickly and then cry because I've finished it. Fabulous story yet again - beautiful ending. Don't want to say too much and ruin it for others! But absolutely fabulous

A delightfully written novel that is full of love, laughing, pleasure, and human understanding. based on the surviving foster parent and three adult foster children. A novel that makes you feel something. A delightful novel to read
What a happy go lucky book, just genuine love between all the characters no matter the issues that come between them
Just lovely!
Should I Tell You? has a lot going on--there's more POV characters than I'm used to these days, and in the beginning it's all a little tough to keep track of as we're not only shifting between POVs but we're also taking frequent trips back in time with Lachlan, Amber, and Raffaele as they reflect on their early days in foster care and how they all came to meet and be friends. To be honest, though I enjoyed the book at that point, it wasn't until the narrative was fully anchored in the present that the book became pretty much unputdownable. There's a lot of reveals along the way, so in order to keep this spoiler-free I'm going to have to be a little general. You'll have to read it yourself if you want all the details (#sorrynotsorry ;))
There isn't anything groundbreakingly different here--it's a story about found families and friends, finding love where and when you (possibly) least expect it, and second chances. It's the execution that makes this one so much fun to read. I really liked all the characters, even the ones I spent a lot of time shaking my head at and the one I wasn't sure could be trusted for approximately 93% of the book. Let's just say that Lachlan and I may share a few trust issues ;) The location is absolutely lovely, and there were more than a few lines that made me laugh out loud. There may also have been a few tears--mostly happy ones!--and there was absolutely a great big happy sigh when I finished it. Was it somewhat predictable? Sure. Did I mind? Not at all.
Every time I finish a [a:Jill Mansell|23625|Jill Mansell|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1272239183p2/23625.jpg] book, I wonder why I haven't read more of them. Hopefully I won't let as much time pass between reading this one and the next, because her books are absolutely lovely!
