Was Chess intentionally written like that? I wish Em plotted against Chess instead of luring her ex-husband to Italy. I don’t understand how she just let it go so easily. I thought for sure Em would plan her revenge but…

Mari’s confession, or fake confession really confused me. Why would Laura not want to meet up with her step-sister if they did not commit the murder?

This was a fun and quick read, especially the parts about Emily. I enjoyed the rivalry and drama between the two friends and the summer vibe of their trip to Italy more than I enjoyed Mary's story.

The only thing is I'm not sure I get the point of why Mary felt like writing those imaginary pages and coming off as a killer. Weird choice but okay.

I also feel like the creepiness of the house wasn't quite there, but maybe that was intentional.

Nonetheless, this was pretty enjoyable overall and I will probably check out the author's other books!
