The Ghost of Christmas to Come by D.P. Conway
Narrated by Danielle Gensler

A sweet Christmas novella where second chances come in a way you would never expect. Old Mattie has been "stuck" for a very long time. She can't stand to think of the bad times, so many of them, blended into one. She misses her husband but she's not ready to go because...she isn't even sure why. This novella features the kindness of strangers and the renewal of hope, during a time when we need it the most.

This was such a cute short story. I anticipated the storyline based on the title, but characters and the way Conway put everything together was sweet. It was a quick listen, but I'm glad I did. It's well worth it. By far one of my favorite short stories I've read. And my favorite of this Christmas series.

I was excited to read some good Christmas stories for the holiday season and I grabbed this one not realizing it was a book 2. But the story was sweet and fast and I didn't mind picking the story up here. It was a bit sappy but still a good reminder about what's important in life.

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

This was a pretty Christmas cover. The narration was very good. This one had me in tears though. It was so so good. This one sure got my heart. I just love Matty. I just hurt for her. I am loving this Christmas collection series and cannot wait to read the next one.

The Ghost of Christmas to Come is the third installment of D. P. Conway's Mysterious Short Stories; but it can be read as a standalone.

Matty Korza has been a widow for a number of years and with each passing year, she becomes more of a recluse spending most of her time staring at the cemetery at the top of the hill.

With each passing day, Matty is visited by a man who cleans her sidewalk and wakes her up in the morning. Until one day, Matty helps an injured little girl. Then everything changes.

The Ghost of Christmas to Come is an unusual story; and at 38 pages it is a very quick and touching read. This is the first book that I've read from the author and I found it to be an enjoyable story. If you like Highway to Heaven, you'll like the writings of D. P. Conway. Three stars. I liked it.

I received a digital copy of the book from Books Go Social through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
