Jane Austen is always a pleasent read. Even though it's my least favourite of the Austen's romances, I still quite enjoyed it.

El enamorado: Coronel Brandon = Mr. Darcy
El interés: Marianne = Elizabeth
Manzana de la discordia: Willoughby = Wickham
La perjudicada: Eliza = Georgiana

Inevitable, no comparar. Es prácticamente el mismo plot, excepto que la pobre Eliza sí que salió bien perjudicada.

Slow, so slow burn que duele.

enjoyable, but the ending felt a little rushed. austen succeeds at a decent satire whilst also making a competent romance, with a very distinct style and character. however, i do wish she wouldn’t have so many sub-clauses in her sentences. while her language is eloquent and often delightful, she does love to make a single sentence run for almost half a page!

I loved this even more the second time I read it!

I first read this book right after hearing the news about Alan Rickman. I think he is the superior Colonel Brandon and an amazing actor.

While rereading this story, I was able to see little hints and bits I had missed during my initial read. I could see how cunning Lucy is, how much Brandon loved Marianne, and Marianne's personal growth. I also really enjoyed how my opinion of John Dashwood changed. I hated him the first time around and in the movie/mini series adaptations, but this read had me almost liking him. I also didn't dislike Lady Middleton as much either.

All in all, this is such a lovely story and it fills my heart so much.

one thing about jane austen is she knows how to write an oldest daughter. elinor is so me vibes.

i love colonel brandon 🫶

personally did not see the appeal of edward bc i feel like even those he’s supposed to be the love of elinor’s life i knew next to nothing abt him 😭 other than that he was shy and had a “good heart”… i would like proof of this please!
