Was great fun to read, easy, fast-paced and got me out of a slump! Your typical cheesy romance, with a few poetic bangers dropped towards the middle/end. Not the highest quality writing, but it’ll do for a light read. Characters bounce off of each other well, not too sure about the fact that Olive is a student and Adam is a professor, but I mainly forgot about it. I feel as though the ending could have been rounded off better, it was rushed with lots of loose ends. It feels a bit fanfiction-y but that’s not something I mind. Otherwise good fun, and cute.

Ok, I delved into this one since I am currently reading one book on philosophy and one about trauma and how we store it in the body so I definitely needed something lighthearted. Full disclosure, there was also bias towards this one over others because it develops in the academic background, and I am about to start my master's thesis this week, so there's that.

The characters are lovable and well fleshed out. I like the fact that the female lead has a best friend deeply invested in advancing the undergraduates and especially the female demographic.
The love interest is well developed too, even if I pictured the small plot twist involving them.

Good pace and interesting topics were covered, and I feel like they make a sweet couple and the group of friends is diverse.
I recommend it.

I had seen this book get a lot of hype online, so I went into it with moderate expectations of an enjoyable fake-dating romcom. It was very easy to get swept up in this book (as tends to happen with fake-dating plots), and I ended up reading it in one sitting. The main character, Olive, is lovable, smart, and spunky, and her love interest is a classic Byronic hero. The central conflict deals with the misogyny, privilege, and power dynamics rampant in academia, which was an interesting counterpoint to the typical romcom tropes. I found myself genuinely invested in Olive's success, academically and personally. For me, this book wasn't anything too special, but it delivered as a quick, light read. My main complaints were that the sex was a little over the top for my liking--just a smidge too graphic for my taste--and the relationship power imbalance wasn't my fave. A lot of the tropes were a little too overdone, too. Sometimes, you just want a delightfully predictable book, though, and I did enjoy it.

This book is well written. A story that never lags that centers around a fake relationship between two academics. Grumpy fake dates sunshine is done SO well here. Because the author is a scientist herself, she weaves academia into the story artistically and addresses women and BIPOC women in science. The story is mostly lighthearted and funny, and has ALL THE FEELS! Extra super bonus points for the Adam Driver inspiration because, YUUUUS... And the cover artwork is done by @lilithsaur (twitter) and will bring out all the Reylo feels for this story.

I really enjoyed this story, it was so funny, very cute and yeah I really liked it.
