You know what's going to happen as soon as a character is introduced, but beyond that, it's not even realistic. The author doesn't even try to make timelines work - the sale and closing of a house in a week, a character starting a new business the month before she leaves for an open ended trip to India, having an auction, but not deciding how to run it until the afternoon of the event, and on and on. I can enjoy a formula story but this one had to many glaring errors and not enough interesting characters.

I enjoyed all of the characters. It did seem unrealistic that Violet would keep her situation a secret from her good customers. Similar to Secret Lives of Dresses by Erin McKean and Trigiani's Valentine series. Violet runs a vintage clothing store. Through the store she meets several women who are all experiencing changes in their lives. They come together to put on a fashion revue in hopes that Valentine can raise enough money to buy her building before it is demolished. She also meets the hunky contractor on the project which cause Violet more heartache.

Interesting concept

This book could have been so much more. The concept of the vintage clothing shop was great, but there was just not the depth this book could have had.

It's chick lit. And for chick lit, it isn't horrible. The ending is a bit rushed and there are parts of the plot that could be more drawn out but other than that, it's good for what it is. It's another book that I would recommend but not necessarily read again.

I would have given 3 stars, but the ending is a cliche HEA that works out & everyone is smiling. I would've preferred Sam not budging & Violet getting the baby she wants without a man. Through her own determination and gumption. But no, he had some life altering epiphany & she immediately agrees to marry him. The ending ruined the story for me. Ruined Violet.
