This book is incredibly fucked up and the worst part is that it is accidental and it seems like the author didn't even notice.
It's a prime example of romanticized Stockholm syndrome including lots of physical abuse and then thankfulness for tending the wounds he himself is responsible for, rinse, and repeat.
Just Nope.

Even ignoring the entire fucked up relationship thing there is nothing else in this book worth reading either.
The entire post-apocalyptic world is nothing but a nonsensical plot convenience.
Common sense is non-existent in the entire cast. Nothing makes even a lick of sense.
