My secret crush on Mark Twain began with this book. Twain is just so damn funny, yet he's that writer that makes you uncomfortable because you realize, while laughing hysterically, that really, you're laughing at yourself. He's a humorist who had such an astute understanding of the world around him that he completely lived before his time. I think everyone should read this book.
