As the enterprise struggles to help a dying civilisation, some of its own citizens seem to be working against them. Or are they?

An old enemy rears it’s head in this remote corner of space, and they are desperate to turn a civilisation’s struggle towards their own ends. They will use any means to reach their goals, including mass murder, and global sabotage.

A great conclusion to an excellent story, it was well told throughout, which so far hasn’t been true for this entire series. I’m looking forward to the next one though.

I really enjoyed this two parter. It felt more in line with the show and was more uplifting then the previous two parter. It also brought out a fascinating villain from the tv show.

[2.5/5] I couldn't help but get slightly bored during this one. It moves surprisingly slowly, which is all the more strange when you consider that this is the second half of a story begun in the previous novel and it should now be barrelling ahead. I can only see this as a result of artificially expanding the story to stretch it across two volumes. It's notably repetitive throughout and just feels too long even at 300 pages.

Fortunately it is well written and this helps somewhat. I also liked its focus on characters over action, with some nice development happening for everyone. The character of Christine Vale leapt off the page more than any previous story I've read with her in even with a relatively small role. I seem to always be happy to see Taurik return too.

Each of these put just a little more perspective on Nemesis and the NextGen crew as they approach the events therein.

The resolution of the story begun in A Time To Sow but I tend to agree with some reviewers that perhaps these two stories might have been better off as a one volume story. There was what I felt, a lot of filler and padding and quite a bit of revisiting what went on in the first book.

However, the ending was satisfying and it was overall a good story.
