Taková příjemná oddechovka :) Poznámky v Rogerových playlistech nebo Amyin cestovní deník byly super, neustále jsem se smála. Rozhodně stojí za to číst, a léto k tomu nepotřebujete. ;)

I don't have a lot to say about Amy and Roger's epic detour, so I'll just write down some of my initial thoughts. *Prepare for a messy review*

2.5 stars.
It's difficult to give this a rating, because some parts were fun and slightly exciting, but those moments never lasted long.
There were times when I felt like giving it a 2 star rating and sometimes a 3.5.
None of the feelings I have towards this book are extreme. So it's a 2.5 rating for me.

This was mildly entertaining but not something I'd read again.
The main characters were not as well fleshed out as they could've been, while the other characters were a lot more interesting. I wanted to know more about Walcott and Charlie in particular.
Even though the book is from Amy's point of view, I had no idea who she was, not even in the end. She was still upset because of what happened to her father, but I found it hard to sympathise with her because she was a stranger to me.

Not sure if what I'll write next is a spoiler, since this is often shelved as contemporary romance, so obviously some sparks will fly. (Some rather disappointing sparks). But I'll mark it as a spoiler in case you don't want to know anything about it.
Spoiler The romance was dragging and once something actually happened, it felt unrealistic.
I would've prefered if they would've stayed friends instead, the chemistry just wasn't there.
Sure, Roger was sweet and funny at times, but just like Amy, I never got to know him. He talks about his girlfriend more than his own life.
He and Amy seemed like an odd combination for some reason.

I really enjoyed all the pictures, notes and playlists in the book. It felt like you were actually on this roadtrip with the characters.

The best discoveries always happened to the people who weren't looking for them. - Roger

Perfect read for people who have the passion to travel. Amy and Roger's epic detour didn't only allow them to discover new things about themselves but also to find answers to their deepest questions and to realize that they also found each other along the way. A beautiful journey about coping with loss, gaining new experiences, meeting new people and finding love.

More like 3.5 stars. It absolutely dragged in some places, but it was just interesting enough that I wanted to read to the end. I liked the scrapbook style pages interspersed throughout the book.

I had a hard time getting through this book. To be honest, it took me 3 weeks just to finish this. I was excited for this but I don't know, halfway through it, I just felt a little bored. Probably because the pacing was quite slow for my taste. But nonetheless, Morgan Matson is good and I'm looking forward to acquiring and reading her Since You've Been Gone novel soon.
