Trying to interpret the language was incredibly frustrating, would have been helpful to have the English @ bottom of page, rather than getting phone out.

Okay idrk what to say about this book. One of my main problems is that it was too slow in the beginning. But I feel like this might have something to do with me taking forever to finishing this book. So for Eniola I was always interested in his story, I loved it. My problem is that it felt like it was constantly about Wuraola even tho I didn’t care at all about her. I feel like the whole political aspect of Eniola’s story came WAY too late and it was incredibly rushed. Like 75% of the story was him being poor n struggling and then in the last part of the story suddenly all of that happens. For Wura tho it was different. It began and oh my god it was so goddamn boring like kunle and her going to his parents house was so fucking boring I couldn’t stand it. It felt like nothing was happening and then suddenly he hit her. So was intrigued but then every goddamn time Wura’s story FINALLY gets interesting it ends on a cliffhanger and Eniolas story starts. So then when we finally get back to Wuraola it’s like a week later and I lose all interest. So when the whole abuse plot starts happening it all just felt so odd?? Like okay I liked Wura’s sister but it just felt so unrealistic ig? Cause we she finally leaves Kunle its like no big deal?? Idk to me this didn’t show how a lot of african women get stuck in physically abusive relationships well. So the ending?? Bruh it’s so odd. Like I said earlier it felt like in Eniola’s story a ton of shit started happening suddenly so when his sister got captured it was like..oh? AND THEN WE DIDNT EVEN GET TO SEE THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER DEATH LIKE HUH??? Girl this whole thing was so ass imo. I think I should go back to reading YA books cause it feels like this whole thing went over my head or something..
