This was a very melancholic book about life, divorce, grief and death. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I especially didn't think I would be rooting for Eloise but I should have known better because men suck.
Minor: Car accident, Child death, Death, Death of parent, Alcohol, Gaslighting, Pregnancy, Grief, Medical trauma, Miscarriage, Terminal illness, Abandonment, and Infidelity

Well written sweet story. It was entirely predictable though
Things that frustrated me
1. Eloise’s behavior. Once Val was 18 she could contact her with no repercussions- why didn’t she when she so obviously should have. 2. The author kept mentioning Maggie was older and taller than F - so? Why should that stop them from being a couple? It obviously bothered the author but is just stupid. 3. Val was obviously going to end up with Eric and he was the one who wrote the notes. No big reveal there
Things that frustrated me
Graphic: Abandonment and Death of parent
Moderate: Emotional abuse
Minor: Terminal illness
