3 ⭐️. This is one of the perks of rereading, most of the time you ended up having a different thought about a certain book than before.

And this is one of the cases.

I just want to point out the characters development here. Atleast I find some of the characters likeable. I think it was somehow rushed and not developed at all like I can't and feel their chemistry to each other. Although this one is more brutal than Pestilence.

I also want to include the pacing, I thought it was somehow kind of messed up and rushed? I don't know I just felt that way. Also towards the end, I think it was predictable blamed it to the 1st book.

Overall, the only good thing about this book that I enjoyed was the thrill, some of the characters and the whole end of the world thing.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this one, personally. The most annoying thing that I can't get over in this series so far is that in both novels the horseman is changed by a woman they become obsessed with and then she becomes pregnant and they live happily ever after.

Yes there is other stuff that goes on in the book. But the bones of the story (no pun intended) are lacking.

War comes through, raises the dead to help kill all humankind. In the process I takes people captive and forces them to kill with him as his army. Through it all he refuses to harm Miriam, whole also keeping her captive and not allowing her human interaction. He stalks her with his dead until he convinces her to love him. Then she forces him to change and love her by taking away his purpose. Baby. Happily ever after. The end.

Disappointing.
