These illustrations - especially the landscapes - are remarkable. I loved the beginning and end of each section so my eyes could browse through them.
The story follows a manga artist through the end of a popular series, with the "watch what you wish for" theme. At the top of his career, he wanted for nothing more, and found himself empty and without inspiration as his career peaks and inevitably declines.
The story was in part beautifully self-contained (like the cat-eyed girl) and yet also disjointed. His relationship with women was fascinating. Something lacked flow for me. I wanted more of him. Maybe it was purposeful in its aimlessness - everyone else wanted more from him, too.

No sé muy bien qué escribir. Creo que no ha sido la mejor obra para empezar a leer a Inio Asano.
La historia es algo cruda con muchas escenas sexuales (algunas violaciones) y mucho diálogo interno. Pensaba que el prota me iba a caer bien, pero ni de coña. Además, parece hasta autobiográfico y eso te deja con el cuerpo un poco revuelto si lo piensas.
La historia está genial, habla sobre un mangaka que ha llegado a lo más alto de su carrera y ahora no sabe qué hacer con su vida. Así vas leyendo sobre su vida, su comportamiento y cómo va descendiendo hasta ser un hijo de la gran p... Perdón.
Objetivamente es una historia buena, aunque el final cuesta de entender. El dibujo es una pasada y es gracias a él lo que más ganas me ha dado de seguir leyendo sus historias.

This was a tough read. You watch Asano's manga artist protagonist Fukazawa spirals into a deep depression as his life crumbles around him. His destructive behavior dissolves his marriage and take a toll on his art, destroying all of the passion in his life. The bleak story is accompanied by gorgeous, but appropriately moody art. Definitely one for a rainy day.

Sorry I know there's supposed to be a deep meaning to this but nothing made me care about the main character at all and I couldn't get on board with it. Not for me.
The art was good at least which is where the extra 0.5 in my rating comes from.

Isn’t the most cheery but keeps you hooked. About someone who has everything he wants but feels hollow.
