AWWW
Soo this is a sequel ish thing to Save the Date by Morgan Matson
Does anyone remember how my number 1 critique of that book was that the brother should've been gay
Well evidently now he is #lgbt so that is awesome
Also I still can't believe the love interest's name is Bill Barnes like..

I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t read the original book this is a spin-off of, but I love that you kind of don’t need to to understand what’s going on. Charlie and her family are so fun, quirky, and they’re all facing realistic problems in their lives that make you feel and root for them. I absolutely adored the characters, the hijinks were hilarious, and the message was so sweet.

I loved that there was little to no spice in this and that we got to experience all the traditions and how everything was subverted, but everything happened in a way that didn’t make anyone or any experience less than what it had been before. Waffles was also an amazing addition. This wasn’t a long story, but there was so much happening and such an amazing development throughout with great pacing. It didn’t feel like it needed to be shorter, but addresses every concern and lives up to everything mentioned in the premise.

This story is about not holding on to your past and moving forward. Charlie is trying to have their usual Christmas with all their traditions but it is difficult as their life has changed in the last few years.
The Flat Santa is missing, they are unable to find their usual ginger bread and everything that can go wrong in the holidays goes wrong. This was about keeping traditions, but also realizing that sometimes things need to change.

ugh this gave me ALL of the warm and fuzzy feelings. I’ve been meaning to reread save the date for a while now and being able to catch up with the Grants is making me even more excited to reread it soon. I loved it!!
