Besides that though I love, love, LOVED this novel. The chemistry between Jason and Sloan right off the bat was incredible. They were so damn funny together and when they finally met up I about damn near cried. I did not expect the book to take the very emotional turn it does in the latter half. I did not like Lola throughout the whole novel and then ended up wanting to BURN THE WORLD DOWN FOR HER. She was a product of the situation she was put in and I don't blame her at all for what she did/said.
Anyways, I'm endlessly glad that my friend bought this for me to read!!!

My feelings about this story kept evolving as I read. At the beginning, it had a very cute romance kind of vibe that I was really enjoying. I liked the giddiness of finding a new love and I was glad to see Sloan coming out of such a dark place. I felt like the story lost a little of that momentum in the middle with the romance progressing so quickly that I was questioning whether it was really believable. But then Abby’s signature emotional punch snuck up on me and I started to really feel for the characters. By the end I really believed that they loved each other and could feel their pain (might have even shed a few tears). Zachary Webber’s narration contributed to that too because he’s really the best at portraying those emotional type of moments. Overall, I thought it was a very solid book!
Moderate: Grief
Full disclosure, this basically turns into a rock star romance which is one of my LEAST favorite tropes, and I still enjoyed it! So if you like that trope, it might be even more up your ally.amateur_bookworm's review against another edition
