I loved this because it's Scalzi and I like his voice. And it had space. And explosions. But I felt like it was divided between trying to be both a serial novel and a complete whole, which resulted in it not entirely working as either. But as far as experiments go, it was interesting to read and advanced the world in a good way, without rehashing too much of the other parts he has written.

A bunch of interconnected short stories that start out not seeming very connected but which come together quite nicely in the end.
